How we collect your data

We collect data in the following ways:

• When you use the app: Shopify provides us with your shop domain and session information so we can provide the Services. When you contact support or communicate with us, we receive whatever information you choose to provide (e.g. email).
• From Shopify: We use Shopify APIs to access data necessary to run the app (e.g. products you tag in stories, theme integration). We do not receive your store visitors' personal data from Shopify.

Reels as a Shopify App & storefront analytics

When a visitor views or interacts with stories on a merchant's store, our systems record anonymized event data on behalf of that merchant. We only store:

• Which story or story group was viewed
• Product clicks and add-to-cart events (linked to product IDs, not to the visitor)
• CTA (link) clicks
• Timestamp of the event

We do not collect the store visitor's name, email, device ID, geolocation, or IP address. This analytics data is used to give merchants insights (e.g. views, clicks) and is processed by Reels as a data processor on behalf of the merchant (data controller).

Legal bases for processing

We process personal data based on:

• Performance of our contract with you (providing the app)
• Legitimate interests (operating and improving the Services, security)
• Compliance with legal obligations
• Your consent where required by law

How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the Reels app (stories, analytics, billing)

Cookies & similar technologies

The Reels app runs inside Shopify Admin; Shopify manages session and authentication. We do not use cookies or tracking pixels on our marketing website for advertising or marketing. Any minimal technical data (e.g. session) is used only to operate the Services.

Data sharing

We may share data only with:

• Service providers that help us run the app (e.g. hosting, email) under confidentiality and data protection obligations
• Regulatory bodies or law enforcement when required by law
